    • Publish on find-a-grave, Lorin DuWayne "Wayne" Gittins , 87, passed away on June 7, 2001, at the Sunshine Terrace Nursing Home from a lingering respiratory disease. Wayne was born on June 1, 1914, in Collinston, Utah to David Gittins and Martha Ellen Richards Gittins . The family soon moved to Smithfield, Utah, where Wayne grew up and attended school. He spent the rest of his life in Smithfield.
      Wayne married Isabell Williams on Feb. 13, 1936 in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1979. Wayne worked as an electronics technician most of his life. He was employed by Bert Thornley, in Smithfield, early in his career and at Modern Appliance in Logan, Utah, after that. He was known throughout the valley as a man who could fix almost anything. He was also an excellent cement and brick mason.
      Wayne served in the United States Army during World War II. Wayne enjoyed his family and before his death had five generations alive at one time. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening, travelling, and woodwork. He was a high priest in the Smithfield Second Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved temple work and especially enjoyed the time he spent as a security guard at the Logan Temple.
      He is survived by his wife, Isabell, and children, JoAnn (Glen) Huff, American Falls, Idaho, Jerry (Eunice) Gittins , Smithfield, Utah, James (Nola) Gittins , Smithfield, Utah, Janae (Dee) Greene, Pocatello, Idaho, Jay (Mary Lou) Gittins , Smithfield, Utah, and Jedd Gittins Smithfield, Utah; one brother, Norman (Bonnie) Gittins ; one sister, Jeannine Tibbets; one step-brother Herbert Hendershot; two step-sisters Laverta and Lois; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Edith Hendershot Gittins ; three brothers, Lavern, Edward, and Ervin; two sisters Donna and Dorothy; and two grandsons, Alan and Michael Chambers.
