SALISBURY - David Wayne Hosch, age 61, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Hosch was born Feb. 11, 1952, in Winder, Ga., the son of the late Janie "Janette" Gittens Hosch and James Marvin Hosch. He was a graduate of Jackson County High School in Georgia.
David retired from Food Lion in 2010 after 26 years of service. He also worked for the Salisbury Post in truck delivery. He was of the Baptist faith and was a Little League coach in Cleveland for a number of years. He was an avid fan of Atlanta Braves Baseball, Duke, Georgia Bulldogs and the Dallas Cowboys.
Preceding him in death were a daughter-in-law, Michelle Hosch, on April 29, 2008; and a grandson, Christian Hosch, on Jan. 12, 2002.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Wanda S. Hosch, who he married June 17, 1972; sons David Dwayne Hosch of Salisbury, Randy Hosch (Monica) of Mooresville, Kevin Hosch and Phillip Hosch, both of Salisbury; brothers Terry Hosch of Salisbury and Charles Hosch of Tennessee; sisters Patricia Hardigree of Hoschton, Ga., and Gail Kennedy (Billy Ray) of Winder, Ga.; grandchildren Mason Storm Chaffin of Mooresville, Garnet Elizabeth (Beth) Hosch of Salisbury, Logan Dayne Hosch of Mooresville and Christopher Michael Hosch of Salisbury.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 29 at Summersett Funeral Home.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bobby Sessoms, Rev. Darrell Worley and Rev. Sayward Fletcher with burial to follow at Rowan Memorial Park. Mr. Hosch will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service.
