      Acted in City Police Courts, Audit Office, Post Office also as Chief Clerk and Draftsman in public works office.
      Appointed as Keeper of Petroleum Warehouse 1st March 1910, while there assisted the superintendent of public works (R.F.S. Bowen) in making of concrete blocks and erecting the new petroleum/gasoline warehouse.
      Resigned civil service April 1907, being offered appointment as Manager and Accountant of the Bridgetown Garage Company Ltd at 200 pounds per annum.
      In 1918 was offered and accepted similar position in Dacestas Garage at 300 pounds per annum. Resigned this.
      Joined railway department 1st October 1921 at 250 pounds per annum as clerk to the Board and assistant to the General Manager. My duties comprised attending to all business of the Board, correspondence work, typing, preparing sundry statements, compiling statistical work, paymaster.
      Seconded for service in Central Road Board Dept 1927. offered and accepted position of Acct & Secretary with the department at 300 pounds raising to 350 pounds per annum
