	He was in the Army in, He was a cargo plane pilot in the USAF. While I do not think he flew in WWII, I know he did fly missions as part of the Berlin Airlift. I actually have a beautiful grandfather clock that he flew out of there during one of his missions. He eventually retired as a Major. I'm not sure, but I think he served a full twenty years. During his career he was stationed in Greece, where he adopted three girls from a woman who had close to a dozen children she was caring for. He brought them all back to the states and raised them. I barely remember them, as they were already married and settled in their lives when I was a young child. I do remember attending the naturalization ceremony for one of the girls, Tia.
