| Hilda (Gittens) Wood and her Husband Clement Wood This a picture of Clement and Hilda Wood taken on a beach in Barbados. I have no idea who took the picture but it must have been taken in the 30s.

| Hilda Gittens 2nd from left front row, Rupert Clement Woods left side 2nd row from front Picture of the Wood families.
Let's face it, this is a pretty poor picture, But it is important to those with connections to the Wood family and Hilda. My mother wrote "Bathsheba" as the caption but the picture was taken in St.Andrew at the Wood home. The important people to identify are Hilda and Clement.
Hilda who is easy to identify with her dark air, is second on the left wearing a white dress.
On her right is Gerald Wood who was a contemporary of mine. Clement is behind Gerald. He is squatting, you can see his face fairly clearly. He has on a white shirt. I hope everyone has made a positive i/d. |

| Hilda is in the back row - third from left. Hi Amy: What a coincidence I was just about to send you an email with a
picture of your grandma Hilda attached, when she was still at school at the
Ursuline Convent. She is pictured along with other students and the picture
was taken in 1934!!! I wonder if any of you have it? Hilda is in the back row - third from left. If I have missed anyone would one of you please send it to whoever I missed.
Re my story it is still going very slowly. Have reached 1952, my age is 27 and still have to go to age 84!!!!!!!!
Love to all.

| Picture was taken at a 'seaside house' in St..Andrew. Standing in the verandah, Mrs. Edna Eckstein and Clement Wood. Edna Eckstein was a good friend of our family and Clement Wood was Hilda's first husband and father of all her children.
Gentleman in white suit and dark glasses, sitting on the top step, is George (Georgie) Eckstein. Everyone called him Georgie. He was well off always with a nice car and lived in a substantial 'wall house' on Maxwell Coast Rd, Christ Church. I think the house is still standing.
Third row: You were correct that's Annie (Sis) Gittens holding Hilda's oldest child Anne. Anne now lives in Canada and I forgot that I had her email address. Will send it with this email.
You could send picture to her. If she does not have it she will be thrilled to have it. She is married to an Eckstein, a nephew of Georgie. Next to Sis is (I think) Clement's mother.
Bottom: Right again - that's Hilda and I think she is holding her second daughter Jennifer. Gosh, Hilda looks like a teenager. (At least one living or private individual is linked to this item - Details withheld.) |

| L-R: Hilda Wood, Clement Wood, Children ?? This a picture of Clement and Hilda Wood taken on a beach in Barbados. I have no idea who took the picture but it must have been taken in the 30s. Can anyone identify the two children? I found it in one of my mothers photograph albums. It was Hilda who gave my mother the pictures of her early married life and several of Anne as a baby and small child. Paul Foster e-mail Feb 4, 2009 |
