To my beloved mother Margaret Gittens four acres of land joining James Black and five negros, Coffea a woman, Betty a woman, Violet a woman, Judy a woman, Ausilla a child for her natural life and then redown to my sister Hannah Gittens and her heirs.
I give to my beloved wife Ann eight acres and all thereon and five negros, Bob a man, Celia a woman, Flora a girl...a lad, Bennaball a child to her and her heirs forever and Laura a negro to be sold and the money divided between my sister Hannah Gittens and my wife Ann Gittens in lieu of dower.
I give onto my beloved godson Edward Downe Humphrey to be paid by my wife and sister 10 pounds also to my god daughter Henretta Putterkin of Roach 10 pounds.
All my monies out equally divided between my wife and my sister after all my debts are paid.
To my wife Ann all my household furniture and plate.
Executrix my wife Ann and my sister Hannah.
