    Imprimus. …it is my express wish that my body be buried as a private gentleman
    Item. Pay my just debts… Item…to my beloved wife Elizabeth Aynsworth Gittens…my plantation called Pilgrim With the mulatto and Negro slaves-quick and dead stock, utensils and implements thereon….the rest residue and remainder…during the time she shall continue to be my widow…
    Item. …to my sister Mrs Margt. Perry anannuity or years sum of £50….also…all the furniture in and belonging to the chamber in my dwelling house next to the chamber called the Green chamber, also my silver bread basket, silver knives and forks, my Epergne and a pair of glass shades… …
    To my niece Miss Katherine Perry my gold watch, chain and trinkets…
    Item. …to my nieces Katherine Perry, Frances Perry, Mary Perry and Margaret Perry the sum of £1000 each…+£50…to be paid to each of them annually…my nephew the Revd. John Hamlet Gittens [will inherit any residue of this should they die]

Gittens…his care and protection to them; as also to my servant Timothy Fraser

    February 1819 CODICIL [In view of age and condition of wife revokes giving her life interest in plantation and instead, £100 annuity and to live in dwelling house without interruption.
