Cliff,
My brother was online searching for our mothers side and found him in your Gittens / Johnson genealogical tree. My grandfather is Donald Vere Foster, born in Barbados to Walter Reynolds and Constance Cromartie Foster. Donald came to the US ( sponsored by his Uncle Arnold) and married Maybelle Schmitt. They lived in the Bronx, then moved to Queens, NY and had 3 girls (Delores, Phyllis and Patricia) and 1 son (Donald).
My mom was Phyllis and married my dad, Robert Foerschner raising 5 boys and 2 girls in Levittown NY. My mom and her sister, Pat, went to Barbados on vacation in the 1980's and met several relatives. She had documented who they were but since she passed away we haven't figured out which sibling has the papers.
There is a photo of Arthur "Kelly" Reynold Foster and I see my grandfathers eyes, mouth and parted hair. It is also amazing to see a photo of our great, great grandfather (Samuel James Foster).
I'm not sure how we are related but I want to thank you for the tremendous documentation you have compiled. |
