    GILL, WILLIAM
    In his family vault within the
    consecrated precincts of this Cathedral
    rest the mortal remains of
    The Honorable WILLIAM GILL
    who having served his country for more than
    thirty years in the respective officers of Auditor
    of Public Accounts Adjutant General of Militia
    Chief Baron of Her Majesties Court of Exchequer
    Master in the High and Honorable Court of
    Chancery and twice presided over the Court of
    Grand Sessions
    conducting for this long period (as senior partner
    of the firm) an extensive mercantile establishment
    died on the 6th June 1846 in the 62nd year of his age
    leaving a worthy example to posterity of the
    strictest probity and integrity in the discharge
    of all his public duties and in domestic life
    of affection to his family sincerity to his friends
    prudence and circumspection
    in all his conduct
    This tablet is erected by his bereaved family
    in testimony of their affectionate duty and
    unbounded veneration of his memory
