Margaret Cox GRANT's father was George Reeve GRANT, mother Margaret Ann McLean, buried 15 Aug 1864. Her father was a ships captain, also working in Antigua and involved in ship building (and probably slave-running, given his unusual mostly "African" slave holdings before manumission) in Bridgetown, where he owned a house at Pier's Head. He was originally from Brixham, Devon, UK. His son, John Charles Grant, is my 2nd great grandfather. Let me know if you would like more information. I can go back a few more generations with the Grants and their ancestors in Brixham. |
