Born in Trinidad, West Indies, to Joseph and Gwen Gittens, Anthony lived in Newark, N.J. He was a graduate of South Side High School in Newark.
Among his mourners are brothers, Stephen, Joseph Jr, and Curtis Gittens. He is also survived by other family, and friends. His final resting place is Forest Green Cemetery in Morganville, NJ.
