    1846 RB4/72/82 I Joshua Gittens of the parish of St. Philip
    Imprimus...that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid…
    Item. …my beloved wife Elizabeth my place called Woods containing three roodsand thirty eight perches of land with the buildings thereon…for her natural life and at her death to be kept together for the benefit of my children to wit; John Hamlet, William Nathaniel, Joshua, Thomas Allison, Thomasin, Mary Ruck and Frances Elizabeth until the youngest arrive at the age of twenty one years and then to be sold and the money arising from such sale to be divided equally share and sharealike.
    Item. …the sum of four hundred pounds which is now due and owing to me in Bushey Park estate the property of the Honourable John Shafe Gaskin shall be kept at interest and my aforesaid wife shall receive the interest annually for the term of her natural life and at her death …to be equally divided between my aforesaid children….[should any die before 21 that portion to be divided between the survivors]
    Lastly. …appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth and my daughter Thomasin Executrix and my brother the Revd John Hamlet Gittens and my son John Hamlet Executors…24 January 1846
